Agra is a famous city of India. Agra is situated on the banks of Holy River Yamuna.Agra is also known as former capital of India.The Golden era of Agra was started with the mughals. Previously Agra was also known named with “Akabarabad”.Later Shah jahan shifted the capital to Delhi. Agra is also known for its fabulous handicrafts, made of marble and soft stone inlay work. The Mughals were great patrons of arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work.

Taj Mahal1. Taj Mahal:- The Taj Mahal is the most popular tourist destination in India.it is Located in Agra. Taj Mahal is known as 8th wonder of this world because of it’s unrepeatable beauty .The Taj Mahal is built from white marble by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his third wife Mumtaz Mahal. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, employing thousands of artisans and craftsmen. The Taj Mahal cover and enlarges on design traditions of Persian architecture and earlier Mughal architecture. Taj Mahal Is closed on Friday.

Agra Fort2. Agra Fort:- Agra fort is also a famous monument of mughal era. Agra Fort is a world heritage site.The Agra fort is not so far from the Taj Mahal.It is only 2.5 kilometers far from Taj Mahal. Accomplish the impact of its central situation, Akbar made it his capital and arrived in Agra in 1558. Akbar’s historiographer, Abdul Fazal, recorded that this was a brick fort known as ‘Badalgarh’ . It was in a devastated condition and Akbar had it reformed with red sandstone from Rajasthan.Agra fort includes so many different constructions with in the fort area as- Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Jahangiri Mahal, Moti Masjid, Musamman Burj, Rang Mahal, Shahi Burj, etc.

3. Akbar’s Tomb(Sikandara):- Akbar’s tomb is also famous for mughal architecture. Akbar was one of the greatest king of his time The construction of Akbar’s tomb was commenced in 1605 and completed in 1613. Akbar planned his own tomb and selected a suitable site for it himself. After Akbar’s death, Akbar's son Jahangir completed the construction.

4. Itmad –ud- daulah:- Itmad ud daulah is also a Mughal mausoleum in the city of Agra in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.It is also well known as baby Taj. It Is also made with white marble.it is also situated on banks ob river Yamuna.it is not so far from the taj Mahal.

Fatehpur Sikri5. Fatehpur Sikri:- Fatehpur sikri is a world heritege site by UNESCO.it is 37 kilometres far from Agra on the way to Jaipur .There is a famous mosque of “Shekh salim chishti” is contructed here,and the world’s highest gate Named Buland darwaza is also situated in Fatehpur Sikri.

There are some other places of interest are also available in Agra and nearby Agra like-Chini ka Rauza, Ran Bagh, Mariam’s Tomb, Mankameshwar Temple, Guru ka Tal, Jama Masjid, Mehtab Bagh, Keetham Lake, Jama Masjid, Swami Bagh Samadhi etc.
