Kochi backwaters

Marine Drive --- A commercial and enjoyment hub
The Marine drive is the famous hangout area of the region. Here, one finds the two bridges; the Rainbow Bridge and the Chinese fishing bridge.

Mattancherry palace
The Mattancherry palace, also referred as Dutch palace, showcase the murals of kings of Kochi. One can see the portraits of various kings of the region here. This palace is built in the shape of quadrangle and has the image of the goddess of protection worshipped by the Royal family of Cochin. There are wall paintings on the wooden ceiling.
Santa Cruz basilica --- a marvel of architecture
Santa Cruz basilica is a wonderful monument of architecture. The monument was built by the Portuguese. This is church of Roman catholic sect of Christianity. One can find the statues of Christ and various important figures of religion. The church was constructed in the year 1558AD under the orders of pope who was the supreme authority of the RC church at that time.
